This time seven years ago I'd just had my labour induced. Little did I know it would take another 10 hours for Corey to arrive! So glad he made it safe and sound because I can't imagine life without this amazing kid.
His birthday has started off with lots of excitement and prezzies. He even managed to tear up and down the street on his new Razor Spark scooter before school. Lots of fun! More birthday news later...
Went out for a walk with Molly this morning and I was bopping along with my ipod to this song. I love this song! Always have. I found myself singing along and remembering this absurd video clip. I was only seven when this song came out in 1983 so I really didn't know what to make of it. Come to think of it, I still don't! It's great though. As Molly Meldrum would say, "Do yourself a favour". Enjoy!
In my creative space this week I have a couple of cards to show you. These were made for two of my friends who are mum's from school, Mel and Nicole. As their birthdays fall only two weeks apart we went out for a combined birthday lunch yesterday. I had such an indulgent day.
Let me tell you about it. It started at 6am when I heard Jayden (8) banging around in the kitchen making his breakfast. At 6.30am he came in to our bedroom and said "Hi Mum, I've had breakfast, brushed my teeth, got dressed and I'm ready to go." What the?!! Where was he ready to go? School camp, that's where! His first ever camp. He somehow managed to fill in the next 2 hours until it was time to actually go up to the school :) Of course I snapped a couple of pics before we left.
He is such a happy, confident kid so there was no separation anxiety (from either of us) when it was time to get on the bus and head off. The excitement from the kids was palpable! I stood to wave him goodbye and he held up a quickly scribbled note saying "I love you" (awww!) and happily blew kisses and waved goodbye. He's away for two nights (one down, one to go) and I'm sure he's having a blast.
Anyway, got home from school drop-off and received a text from my dear friend Joyles asking me to meet her for a cuppa. We talked and talked and talked. I always feel energized after a chat with Joyles. She's on my wavelength when it comes to health (and lots of other things too), and I find it really helpful to swap ideas and inspiration with her. After a long, chatty, delicious brunch at Redgum Gallery and Cafe, it was time to whiz home and head out again for the birthday lunch (mentioned above). By the time my 3 lovely friends and I had wined and dined there for a couple hours it was time to pick up Corey from school.
A HUGE day for me - as you may know I usually carefully plan my activities so I don't "overdo" it healthwise - but it was wonderful. Was I exhausted and in pain that evening? Yep. But was I still happy and glad for a day of indulgence with good friends? You bet! I don't do it very often, which makes it even more special.
Thanks for stopping by. For more creative spaces, you simply MUST pop over to Kirsty's blog Kootoyoo. There are some clever chicks out there in blogland... :) Have a great day! xxx
Have I mentioned how much I love Flickr? Well I do! Whilst I've been resting and recovering from my trip to Myrtleford, I've been playing with Flickr and the Mosaic Maker at Big Huge Labs.
Thought I'd look for images of one of my favourite things....red shoes! Here's the mosaic I made tonight.
Things have been a little quiet around here. I've been away visiting my Mummy and Daddy up in Myrtleford and then had a quick overnight visit to my Sis and her family in Jindera. The boys very much enjoyed spending a couple of days with their cousins.
- Just hangin' around together - swinging on the gate kept them entertained for quite some time!
- My boys enjoyed having a turn of feeding the lambs "Sweetie Pie" and "Restless"
Thanks Jode, for taking the boys home with you so I could enjoy some quiet time with Mum.
Hey Mumma, glad you're feeling a bit better. Love you heaps....don't forget!
Probably won't be much happening at this blog over the weekend. I will need a few days to recover from my adventures.....they've worn me out! The kids are back at school on Monday, so I should be back to more regular programming here soon. Have a wonderful weekend.
GO SAINTS!.....again.
The drawn AFL Grand Final last weekend has been a traumatic affair for all concerned.
We'll be glad when it's over.....as long as Collingwood don't win!
